Matt and Amanda were roommates who became best friends, and then fell in love. Looking back now, they both agree it was love at first sight, but neither of them knew it just yet.
The couple had carved their initials into a tree when they first started dating, and they had gone back every year and added the year. On a November day, Matt told Amanda that he wanted her photographer friend, Eric, to take some photos of them. They walked to “their” tree and when Amanda turned around, Matt was down on one knee where he had carved “Marry Me” into the tree.
Matt and Amanda got married at the church and followed with their reception at Starlight Meadow. Although their wedding didn’t have a particular theme, Amanda and her mom looked through ‘probably a hundred magazines’ until they found the look they wanted.
“I really enjoyed spending time with her planning my wedding. I think it brought
us closer together,” shared Amanda.
With a simple, elegant and classy feel in mind, navy blue and white, with a splash
of light pink, were the colors they selected.
“We chose the navy blue to match my ring. My ring is sapphire for his birth stone, with diamonds on the side. I lost my grandmother three years ago, but I have her wedding ring and made sure I was wearing it as part of my bridal jewelry,” Amanda said.
“Our wedding day was beautiful and went by so fast! My whole family made sure everything went smoothly, at least from perspective. I am still hearing stories about the crazy things that went on and I had no clue. My dad had the biggest smile walking me down the aisle and my fiancé kept me laughing the whole day. It is a day we will never forget.”
