Evelyn & Andy
Andy and Evelyn met one day when he walked into her work place. Andy had walked into her salon wanting to see a barber that used to work with them. They began talking and quickly realized there was a very nice connection between them.
“I forward him the barber’s address through my cell phone. I did it that way on purpose and he caught my intention. He got my number and started texting me. Sometimes the girl has to make the first move,” laughed Evelyn.
Andy surprised Evelyn with a proposal at her parents’ house. Her parents had made a lovely dinner with beautiful decorations. Right before heading out for the evening, Andy asked if he could make a toast. Down on one knee, he asked the girl that ‘has taken his heart away’ to spend the rest of her life with him. Evelyn, of course, said Yes!
They soon began planning for their wedding that would be held on the exact same date that Andy had originally asked her out.
“It was the weekend of Thanksgiving, Saturday, November 26th. The perfect way to start all of our holidays, with our anniversary,” said Evelyn.
The couple married at Villa de l’Amour incorporating Evelyn’s favorites colors and décor. One of her favorites being light pink to match her girly personality, accompanied by lots of white and small accents of glittery gold.
Andy and Evelyn had roughly 200 guests at their wedding, including family from New York, Virginia, Texas, Florida, Honduras and Colombia.
“Our flowers were shipped from Colombia and Ecuador. They all started being shipped a week before the wedding, so every day I woke up to huge flower boxes at my doorstep,” Evelyn shared.
“We surprised our guests with fireworks and danced until 4 o’clock in the morning. I will say that our wedding was honestly the best day of my life. Being surrounded with all the people that we love and sharing that special moment with them means a lot to me. I had over four generations at my wedding. The only thing I would change about our wedding day would be to have started it earlier so we could enjoy it more!”
