Keynisha & Eric
September 22, 2018
"In the summer of 2013, Eric and I were both employed at the Ragsdale YMCA as summer camp counselors. Throughout the summer, we had a crush on each other, but never acted on it. Eric asked me to go get coffee at the Green Bean in downtown Greensboro and I thought it was the cutest gesture. After the first date, I had butterflies whenever I was around Eric. At a staff meeting one week, I tripped over my own feet and almost threw a blue slushy at Eric. Eric knew that I really liked him and asked to be my boyfriend on August 11, 2013."
"Every year on Christmas Eve, my family gets together for a pajama party. Each family or couple is supposed to wear matching or coordinating pajamas. Eric and I decided to wear coordinating Batman pajamas because he is our favorite super hero. I love to be around my family, so I've always wanted to get engaged around family and friends. Everyone was dancing and having a good time and all of a sudden, Eric asked to stop the music. Eric grabbed my hand and took me to the living room. In front of all of my family he told me he wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. It was the sweetest proposal ever because now every Christmas Eve, we will remember the day that changed our lives forever.
"We chose purple and gold for our wedding colors because Eric's favorite color is purple and mine is rose gold. The sermon that was performed by my grandfather was amazing. He made it personable to everyone there, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! It was somewhat of a blur, but it was the best day of my life because I was able to marry my best friend." ~ Keynisha
