“We met at the diviest of dive bars over a game of pool. As we watched the Cubs win the world series, we had no idea we had each just met our soulmate. I don’t know that it was love at first sight, but I did tell my friend that I called ‘dibs’ on him as soon as I spotted him in the bar. We got engaged on a rooftop overlooking the white and blue hillside of Santorini, Greece.”
“Our wedding day was a fabulous whirlwind of family and friends who gathered at our little farm to celebrate with us. We had our ceremony in front of a huge field of wildflowers that we planted in the meadow, just below our 150 year old farmhouse. Guests enjoyed fresh homemade sangria for cocktail hour under the bistro lights behind our house. We rented a large white tent for our reception that took place in our side yard. We built some of the farm tables that our guests sat at, and we decorated them with eucalyptus runners, vintage glasses and gray candlesticks.
I made all of the bouquets and boutonnières myself since I have a floral design background. I really loved that we were able to plant a tree together during our ceremony. We are now able to watch that tree grow and bloom right along with our marriage.
It was a beautiful day, but our favorite part was getting to have fun and dance with all of our closest family and friends.” ~ Alayna
