Krissy & Michael
Michael and Krissy met at UNC-Chapel Hill. He was a first-year MBA student and she was a senior in college. It was love at first sight when they met at Pantana Bob’s!
Michael proposed in his home. He had the ring tied with ribbon around a special bottle of wine they had gotten in Napa Valley the previous year.
“I didn’t even notice the ring at first. I was too busy trying to open the wine!” Krissy remembered.
Although Krissy grew up in the Triad, the couple opted to have their wedding in the hometown of their college at The Carolina Inn. Guests were greeted to their ceremony in the courtyard with champagne and/or hot apple cider, and they had pashminas available for all the guests if they got cold.
The ceremony space was decorated with white pumpkins, white rose petals, lanterns, and various sized hurricanes with candle light. They also had twinkle lit balls hanging from the trees in the courtyard to capture the twilight of the night when the ceremony ended.
“Cocktail hour immediately followed, while Michael and I were rushed to the Old Well via the UNC Football golf cart to take some newly married pictures. It was quite the ordeal when my dress got stuck in the axle of the golf cart while we were taking pictures. The entire back of my dress was ruined and ripped apart. Lucky, we got some good pictures before the accident and my mother and sister were able to somewhat put the ripped back of the dress together with safety pins making it look like a bustle! I was able to dance and party the night away without anyone really noticing!” shared Krissy.
“The reception was equally as special and a blast! We had the UNC Rameses and the Chick-fil-A cow mascot come celebrate with us during the end of the night, and the cow passed out Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits. Chick-fil-A has meaning to us, as my dad owns a store in Greensboro, NC. We exited the beautiful front entrance of the Inn with all the guests cheering us on with UNC pom poms. I loved every minute of our wedding day! It was perfect!”
