Taylor & Greg
Taylor and Greg met at Young Life camp in high school and dated long distance throughout college before Greg made the big move from Colorado to North Carolina. Though they weren’t good friends while at camp, they began communicating and texting upon their return home, which led to skyping and then flying across the country to visit one another. Before long, they were dating seriously and never looked back.
Greg planned the proposal to a tee, and had Taylor’s brother hide in the bushes to take pictures of the big moment. Greg led Taylor to a dock in her neighborhood where he had a kayak with white balloons waiting. They rowed to another dock nearby, decorated with flowers and sweet music playing. They enjoyed an intimate dance together before Greg dropped down to his knee and asked Taylor to marry him.
Taylor and Greg were thrilled with the numerous TriadWeddings Magazine vendors they used and were lucky enough to win their honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico at Marry Me, the Triad’s premier wedding planning event produced by TriadWeddings Magazine.
They incorporated some family heirlooms in their wedding to achieve a vintage elegance, using soft pink, cream, gold and lots of greenery to keep things understated and focused on their experience as a couple. Taylor and her mother collected antique teapots, silver, crystal, and mercury glass containers for the flowers and candles, while Greg and Taylor’s father built a ten-foot cross to be displayed at the front of the ceremony. As a surprise for their guests, the couple provided seven different flavors of cake and rode away from their reception in the back of a pick-up truck, with sparklers and fireworks to send them off in style. At the end of the day, Taylor and Greg’s favorite part of their wedding was the beginning of their marriage. “I thought I was going to be super nervous walking down the aisle, but it was the most surreal, heavenly experience. Once I locked eyes with Greg I had the most overwhelming feeling of peace and joy come over me.”
