Maddie & Thomas
Though Thomas was very shy at first, when he and Maddie met through mutual friends at a tailgate for an Appalachian State football game in 2011, Maddie made it very clear that she wanted to see him again. Despite that they lived in two different cities, their relationship blossomed and their love for one another grew.
One evening, the happy couple went on a double date with friends and Thomas stunned Maddie with a proposal that night. “I had absolutely no idea Thomas was proposing, so I was completely shocked when he got down on one knee after dinner in the parking lot,” remembered Maddie.
Maddie and Thomas planned their simple and elegant wedding, using TriadWeddings Magazine to browse vendors and venues. “There were so many options that I found that I had no idea existed!” said Maddie.
The couple chose the beautiful Millennium Center for their ceremony and reception. Though they never settled on a particular theme, they used ivory, blush, and gold colors to complement the existing decor in the venue.
Maddie and Thomas hired Jodi Gray Photography to photograph their wedding, as Maddie had worked with Jodi several times in the past. She did their engagement photos and her bridal portraits. “Jodi definitely knows what she’s doing and made pictures so quick and easy.”
Maddie confirms that their wedding day was perfect for them, and even though there were flaws, they were perfect flaws. A weekend full of smiles with family and friends to celebrate their union was everything they needed. “There were details I could have obsessed over, but I decided not to. At the end of the day I got to marry my best friend and that’s all that really matters.”
