Jill & Brian
Jill and Brian met on Match.com and immediately felt a connection forged by mint chocolate chip ice cream and their labrador retrievers. On their first date, their conversation flowed easily and they enjoyed themselves so much that before it was over, Brian scheduled another date with Jill to take their dogs to the park that Saturday. But, in the time between their first date and their double dog date that weekend, they grew too impatient to wait to see one another and Brian set up a dinner date with Jill for Friday.
Their engagement was simple and intimate, just the two of them preparing to go out for a date on a Saturday night. When Jill rose from the couch to find something to wear, Brian immediately volunteered to do so for her and disappeared into the bedroom, and upon his return he proposed with a beautiful ring.
In the same style as their proposal, this unique couple originally planned a wedding ceremony in Hawaii for just the two of them, preempted by a party with family and friends for their send-off. However, once they were knee-deep in planning they realized how important it was to have everyone share in their special occasion and they decided to make their wedding ceremony a secret surprise for everyone in attendance of their send-off party.
After mingling with their guests among the luau decorations, pineapple centerpieces, and ice cream sundae bar, the couple snuck away to return with Jill in her wedding dress and Brian in his suit.
“The Reverend, a close family friend, went to make the announcement; ‘We aren’t gonna let these two kids run off to Hawaii without getting married, so we’re having a wedding right here, right NOW!’ I was able to watch our guests’ reactions from the window. They were so surprised and excited!” remembered Jill.
“Our family and friends have seen us go through some tough times and they helped us get through it. We were grateful to have them with us.”
