Megan & Jordan
Megan and Jordan met when they were in the same third grade class at Shining Light Academy.
“Although he was not fond of me in the third grade, I would always chase him around the playground to try to hug him. I always had a crush on him when we were younger, but he would throw rocks at me in elementary school,” remembered Megan.
The two grew up together as childhood friends and remained friends throughout high school. After high school, they parted ways. About four years later, Megan and Jordan reconnected, began dating and realized they were right for each other.
“We got engaged after we went to the Tanglewood Park Christmas lights. We were stringing up lights at my parents’ house when Jordan told me that he had a surprise for me. Totally catching me off guard, he asked me to marry him. It was absolutely perfect!” said Megan.
Megan and Jordan planned for their May 30th, 2014 wedding at Castle McCulloch. They specifically picked this date because May 30th, 2013 was when Jordan asked Megan to be his girlfriend. Exactly one year went by from dating to marriage.
“My colors were purple and yellow. They are my favorite colors and I had always dreamed of at least having purple in my wedding. Not only did the bridesmaids and groomsmen wear purple, but so did my mother and the mother of the groom,” said Megan.
“Occasions Custom Floral Designs did an amazing job with our flowers. They really added personal touches to the flowers and décor that went above and beyond my expectations.”
Created by Visions Catering, Megan and Jordan’s guests were treated to a buffet style dinner at their reception that included a variety of selections like chicken, sirloin, all kinds of vegetables, breads and more. It was important to the couple that their guests have lots of options from which to choose.
“Our wedding day was so special to me. Not only did I get to marry the man of my dreams, I also got to fulfill another dream of having my daddy walk me down the aisle. From the time I was little, he always promised me that he would make sure he was still living to see me walk down the aisle and get married. Although my dad is not physically sick, he is older in age. He was completely happy both of our dreams were fulfilled that day,” Megan shared.
For Megan, the most unique element of the day was seeing her soon-to-be husband cry when she walked down the aisle. She was also surprised to see Jordan’s father, also his best man, cry as well.
The memories of their special day were captured by McCardell Photography.
“I absolutely loved working with McCardell Photography. They were so very nice and pleasant and they really listened to everything we said and wanted.
“We were blessed to have family and amazing friends there to support us and share such a happy day together. There is not one thing that I would change about our wedding day. To Jordan and me, it was absolutely perfect,” concluded Megan.
