Marcella's parents visited a church when she was away at college. During the sermon, her father had the sense that there was something very special about the young man preaching and had the thought, “That is who Marcella will marry.” He proceeded to lean over and tell her mom, who thought that was a bit premature since they didn't even know who he was.
Eventually, Tripp came to a family lake day and he and Marcella began dating shortly thereafter. Marcella remembers telling a friend, “I know this sounds crazy, but Tripp feels like home.”
In January, Tripp took Marcella on a day trip to Charleston, SC. After a beautiful day of walking around downtown, he surprised her with dinner reservations at 5 Church, a lovely renovated church turned restaurant. Little did Marcella know that Tripp had invited both families to join them, and also had a proposal planned. When they walked in, he popped the question, the waitress popped a bottle of champagne, and everyone in the restaurant stood and cheered.
The morning of their wedding, Tripp played golf with his closest friends and family, while Marcella had a lovely breakfast with hers. They were then joined by 375 of their closest friends for a very meaningful ceremony and large dance party at their reception, held at
the elegant Empire Room.
When asked about one of their favorite memories from the day, Tripp replied, “Our ceremony was just what we had hoped for; very intimate and meaningful. The most significant part was getting to serve communion to everyone. It was a perfect day celebrating
with our loved ones.”
