Kara & Nadim
Nadim and Kara met when they were first starting college. Mutual friends introduced them and they began dating. After a few years spent growing, maturing, and learning from one another, they finally realized that they had the truest and greatest love right in front of them all along.
The couple went kayaking on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Lake Brandt, where they often go. They kayaked to a clearing on an island and started hiking around. As Kara was climbing back into her kayak, Nadim said, “Wait!” When she turned around, he was on one knee and asked her to marry him.
Kara and Nadim chose to marry at the magnificent Bella Collina Mansion and were completely calm and at ease not only the morning of their wedding, but also during their planning process. “I didn't spend one second of my engagement calling a million photographers, caterers, DJ's, florists, rental companies, etc. to compare prices and services and worry about a timeline or anything. Bella Collina takes care of all of that for you,” remembered Kara.
Incorporating the colors of ivory, champagne, gold and a pale petal pink, the couple described their wedding day feel as vintage-esque. And although there was rain in the forecast, the rain held out and Kara and Nadim were able to have their ceremony on the back deck as originally planned. They presented their daughter with a necklace as a symbol of their unconditional love for her.
One of the most unique elements of their wedding day was the blending of the Arab and American cultures and traditions. Their ceremony included prayers and quotes from the Quran, and the Bible, and was focused on love. “It went perfectly. We wouldn't change a single thing!” concluded Kara.
