Meredith & Nicholas
MEREDITH & NICHOLAS MET THROUGH MUTUAL FRIENDS and ultimately began communication over the internet. Eventually, they decided to meet with Meredith’s sister and a couple of friends at an Independent film, The Science of Sleep. During the movie, they were unable to focus and continued to talk over the entire movie! It was an instant connection and they knew they would be spending most of their free time together.
The next and first official date was the very next day! The day after that they were already meeting each other’s families.
“Love at first site is no lie in our case,” said Meredith. “Nick and I truly lit a spark from the very beginning and knew we would be sticking together like glue from the first meeting. Endless conversations, lots of dates, and even maintaining a long distance relationship makes for love at first sight! We spent the next six years dating until we were finally able to settle down starting with the wedding of our dreams!”
When asked to share their proposal story, Meredith replied, “My fiancé is quite the charmer! One of my fiancé’s groomsmen was starting a photography business. Nick schemed with him to plan the perfect engagement. He knows how sentimental I am and how memories of things though letters and pictures are priceless to me. So, Chris contacted me and said that he needed some more pictures for his portfolio. I agreed to a “fake engagement session” at High Point City Lake Park. (I wondered when getting ready why Nick was taking his outfit so seriously). We took several photos together. Then, Chris told us to start walking together and he would snap as we walked. This was the point that Nick got down on one knee! I thought he was joking just for the pictures. When he pulled out the ring, I realized this was for real! I was beyond surprised and ecstatic. And the best part is that we have documentation and pictures of the whole engagement!”
Held at the beautiful Adaumont Farm, Meredith described their wedding day.
“Our wedding was absolutely perfect. My little girl dream wedding turned into a reality. Every little detail was played out perfectly and not one thing was missing. I had the most wonderful team who put everything together to make our day so special. To top it all off, I have beautiful pictures from McCardell Photography to remember it all. I don’t think I stopped smiling all day... from the dress, to the location, to the decorations, vendors, happy moments, and family - it was perfect.”
Although they did not have a particular theme, Meredith & Nicholas kept a classic look and feel with some modern fun twists, including a photobooth, a coffee bar, a memory room, cornhole boards and a gelato cart. Their colors were plum purple, royal blue, and a hint of lime green, all accented with white, much of which was provided by Triad Event Rentals. They and their guests were treated to succulent food catered by Sweet Basil’s Catering.
“I think we had so many unique elements to the wedding. We brought everything together with our “Tie the Knot” save the dates to actually tying a knot in the ceremony with a Fisherman’s Knot. One of the groomsmen played our ceremony music, my bridesmaid made our invitations and my mom made our wedding cake!
“There is nothing that I would change - it was perfect. Oh, I thought of something - if I could have changed anything, I would have extended the night out to continue the dancing and good time!” concluded Meredith.
