Ashleigh & Ben

IT WAS THE PERFECT DAY TO MEET THE “ONE” - 10/11/12. Ben and Ashleigh met on that exact date at Old Town, thanks to the bar owner (who just so happened to be a mutual friend). Was it meant to be or what?!

After four hours of non-stop talking and laughing, Ashleigh knew there was a definite spark. He was dashing. He was cool. And when she gave him her number, he actually called her the very next day!

They fell in love and as time passed, Ashleigh watched as not one, but TWO perfect proposal opportunities passed them by. So she waited... and waited... Nine months after they met, he whisked her away to a quiet dinner at The Melting Pot. What she suspected to be a totally normal and uneventful date night turned out to be the beginning of an entirely new chapter in their lives.

Ben looked at his gorgeous girlfriend, and then told her a story. It was the tale of how on that very day, July 5, when he was a mere fifteen years old, he moved from Ohio to the South and started a brand new beginning, marking this date as very important in his heart. Now, so many years later, he was ready for another new beginning and he didn’t want another second of it to continue without her becoming his wife. With that, the tears began and Ashleigh said yes!

So it began! They put together a dream team of vendors, including Coordinated Events, who took the couple’s healthy obsession with disco balls and sparklers to create a stunning (and shiny!) affair. Held at the Lofts at Union Square, their wedding captured their entire personality, from their passion for music, to their love of God. They even incorporated sparklers into their wedding cake - talk about unbelievable wow factor! As an added bonus, the incredible groom’s cake, an exact replica of Ben’s turntables, had the groom almost in tears. His friends could not get over how real and identical it was to his turntables, down to the personalized stickers on them!

“Our wedding was a dream come true for Ben and me and we have Susan Marie and Summer of Coordinated Events to thank for that. They gave us a better, more meaningful wedding than we could ever have planned on our own. We could not possibly thank them enough for bringing every request to life and for everything they did to help us plan the wedding of our dreams! We’re SO glad to have had them in our corner, guiding us with their genius and allowing us to ENJOY the process,” said Ashleigh.

Hooman Bahrani of Vesic Photography documented the big day and both Ben and Ashleigh were absolutely thrilled by his work. “His approach to wedding photography should be praised every day and to say that he has a gift does not even begin to do his craft justice! We are beyond happy with everything! He is a true rock star!” Ashleigh added.

The couple was also thrilled to have selected a videographer for their wedding. Good Earth Films made sure to include every incredible detail along with the epic amounts of dancing (made awesomely possible by Chris Fletcher of Triad DJ & Events). “Their attention to detail is beyond touching. They capture moments from your day that you really want documented, yet did not even realize happened until you sit down and watch the footage.”

Ben and Ashleigh have most certainly marked their wedding day as “the best day ever” and would not have changed even the slightest detail – it was as perfect for them as the day they met!
