“May 2, 2021 was a one-year reflection of our nuptials. We actually got married on our original date, which was May 3, 2020, but of course COVID didn’t allow our day to be as magical as we hoped. So instead, we decided to plan for a wedding celebration and share our “one-year reflection” with our family, friends and loved ones. We called it a “BookerAfFAIR”, a play on names as “Fair” is my maiden name, and of course Booker is the married name.
“This was the perfect day in our eyes. We wanted to share our love for one another and be able to thoroughly enjoy the day. It was romantic and intimate and perfect for us. We were not rushed, and everything was well-paced. It was simply a magical and beautiful day that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
“The most unique element of the wedding was how untraditional it was. As mentioned, we were already married so we didn’t see the need of a minister or pastor to marry us. Instead, we used that time to share with our guests, ‘how we felt being married for the past year.’ It was a one-year reflection really and truly. This also left more time for fellowship, pictures, and being able to enjoy the moment. As stated, it was a celebration, and we were excited to share our love story to some of our favorite people.” ~ Amber
