Kelly & Kory
Kory and Kelly met in middle school, yet didn't start dating until they both went to Virginia Tech. They got engaged on their three-year anniversary.
Kory and Kelly had always gotten lottery tickets for Christmas and various holidays, so when he brought her some the day they got engaged, she didn't think anything of it. She started scratching them off and then on the very last one she scratched off three diamonds followed by the prize box which read, “Will you marry me?” Kory was down on one knee!
The couple hosted their rustic elegant wedding at Bella Collina Mansion, incorporating the colors of mint, gold and peach.
“I tried to put a lot into the details for the wedding. I fell in love with the candelabra look from a different wedding and that was kind of the starting point for everything. I looked at a lot of different weddings that had occurred at Bella Collina and one thing I knew I wanted was a table runner. I found those on Etsy and I can't imagine the tables without them! I also really like the lantern look so we incorporated lanterns and greenery throughout,” shared Kelly.
They created a beautiful typewriter display which served as their guestbook. The piece of paper said to sign your name beside your favorite bible verse.
“We had a sign beside it that read, 'We love because He first loved us'. We felt like this was a very special and unique way to do our guestbook,” Kelly continued.
The couple had wine barrels with signs as people entered and program fans for their guests at the ceremony. They also incorporated mini bottles for their seating chart, and koozies and mints were placed at everyone's chair.
“One thing that was really special was that my nephew was able to be in the wedding as our baby of honor. His due date was originally ten days before the wedding so we were worried my sister would possibly miss the wedding (she was the matron of honor), but Brylan ended up coming early and it all worked out perfectly!
“I really loved the sparklers and the pictures that can be created from that, and the boat exit was really cool! Everything was perfect! The little details came together so nicely and I wish I could live the day all over again!” Kelly concluded.
