Heather & Zach
Three years ago, while Heather was out to dinner with a few friends, she got her first glimpse of her future husband across the room, proudly wearing a Batman costume. Intrigued, Heather found out Zach and his friends were dressed as superheroes to raise money for The V Foundation for Cancer Research, and over the next year this teacher and fireman duo became friends and found they had even more in common than their mutual desire to do good in the world. They finally became an item at a friend’s wedding, when Zach escorted Heather to be seated at the ceremony.
On New Years 2013, Zach and his family road-tripped Heather, a Disney and princess fanatic, to Cinderella’s castle at Disney World where dreams come true.
As the couple posed for a photo in front of the castle, Zach dropped to his knee and asked Heather to make the moment even more perfect by agreeing to marry him. Heather had always dreamed of being a princess since she was a little girl and at that moment she really was, in the most incredible place on earth with her real life Prince Charming.
TriadWeddings Magazine was Heather’s ‘go-to reading material throughout the planning process’, and she was enamored by all the wonderful ideas, vendors and venues that were native to North Carolina. And at their wedding day at Cody Creek, the pink hues of blush and bashful, inspired by the film “Steel Magnolias”, were a perfect contrast to the clear blue skies above. A grand exit for the happy couple on a fire truck was the pinnacle of the celebration and cemented this couple’s wedding as one their guests surely won’t forget.
Surrounded by family and friends, Heather shares only one thing that could have made their day more perfect: “If there was any way to slow time down we would have done that! The day flies by. I am so glad at our reception we chose to sit alone at our sweetheart table for a few minutes to talk, eat and soak in the happiness of having everyone we love the most all together.”
